Atlantic Ambulance annouces Golf Outing to be held October 6, 2010 at Black Bear Golf Club, Franklin, NJ.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Atlantic Ambulance employee training fund. Atlantic Ambulance takes pride in having not only the best employees, but the best trained employees, as well. The funds collected will ensure that we will be able to continue to provide the highest quality training that exceeds the needs of our nurses, EMTs and paramedics. This will enhance their skills to ensure our community will have highly trained emergency medical professionals to care for our loved ones when they are needed.

Many of our employees have provided countless hours of serving the needs or their neighbors by dedicating their time as a volunteer on their local EMS squad or Fire department. We want to thank all volunteers and reward them with a reduced fee for playing in our golf outing. In addition, we are asking for sponsors that are willing to honor volunteers by providing the opportunity for them to play for free through our Volunteer Sponsor option.

Atlantic Ambulance Sponsors EVERY 15 MINUTES Program at West Essex High School in North Caldwell

Life's lessons are best learned through experience. Unfortunately, when the target audience is teens, and the topic is drinking and driving, experience is not the teacher of choice. The Every 15 Minutes program offers an experience without the real life risk and tragedy.

On Monday, June 8, 2009 students at West Essex High School in North Caldwell, NJ experienced the simulated effects of drinking and driving through a highly interactive, day-long program presented by Atlantic Ambulance Corporation.

Every 15 minutes, students were pulled out of class, bringing to life the staggering statistic that every 15 minutes, someone dies as a result of an alcohol related collision.  The students return to class and represent the “living dead” – with white faces, unable to interact with their classmates for the remainder of the day.

A graphic, mock collision took place outside the school at lunchtime where students participated in various roles.  As the students gathered outside upon hearing the news, a “drunk driver” was arrested, a fellow student “died” at the scene and several other passengers in the car were whisked away by ground and air ambulance to a nearby hospital.  Parents were brought to the hospital by police cars, where they awaited news of the “fate” of their children.

The next morning, a mock funeral service was held at the school, and students watched a video recap of the prior day’s events.  An emotional lesson learned about potential real life consequences, the program has been shown to change behaviors and beliefs; challenging students to make mature decisions about drinking and driving.

Atlantic Ambulance Golf Outing Raises Funds Towards Isolette

Close to 75 golfers enjoyed a laid back day at Black Bear Golf Club in Hamburg, NJ to raise money towards the purchase of an isolette for Atlantic Air One.  An isolette is a very critical piece of equipment necessary to care for our tiniest patients who need an environment in which their individual requirements can be given every attention.

Isolettes provide safe, warm environments and protect babies from drafts, noise, infection and excessive handling.  A lightweight, specially made isolette is needed by our highly trained medical professionals for transporting these patients while in Atlantic Air One. Nearly $10,000 was raised towards this piece of equipment which has a total cost of $75,000.

We wish to thank all participants and sponsors who helped us come closer to our goal.  Through their generosity, the smallest members of our community have the chance to get the care they require to survive air transport, reaching a facility where they can grow and thrive.
