Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is the leading cause of death in the United States. SCA can happen anywhere, to anyone, at any time...without warning, without symptoms and regardless of age or general health.
Victims of SCA have a better chance of survival when defibrilation is administered within 5 minutes of onset. Given the small window of effectiveness, rapid time to defibrillation is critical.
